What SlothMate does, as it ships today.

Nothing on this page is a roadmap. Free and Plus are marked where they differ, and provider limits are stated where they apply.

SlothMate provides no channels, movies, series, playlists, guide data, or media subscriptions. Bring your own legal sources or personal files.

Sources you already own

Xtream Codes accounts, M3U playlist links, M3U playlist files, and My Media folders each become a profile on the Welcome Back screen. A saved source that cannot open says why (an expired account, credentials, the network, or an unreadable playlist) and offers Try again, Edit, and Delete right there.

Live TV and the Guide

A three-pane Live TV: categories, channels, and a muted preview with Watch fullscreen, channel zapping (up/down), a live-edge button, and the keys you expect (Space, M, F, Esc). The Guide grid uses your provider's quick schedule, or a full XMLTV guide you load with one click on Xtream sources or paste in for M3U sources.

Movies and Series

Lazy catalogs that stay smooth at very large sizes, details with play and lock controls, resume and Continue Watching, and series with seasons, episodes, and Up Next. Movies and Series come from Xtream sources that offer them. M3U playlists provide Live TV only.

My Media

Your own videos, series folders, music, and photos from any folder or drive you choose. Local scanning with no copying, playlists for music and photos, a photo viewer, and local tiles in MultiView that use no provider connection.

Favorites, categories, presets

Favorites are kept per preset, including the built-in Default. Custom categories group channels your way. Presets scope every screen and can be locked or turned into a Kids Mode session. In Live TV, Shift-click selects a whole visible range of channels for one bulk action.

Free20 favorites per kind per preset, 3 custom categories with 20 channels each, and 2 custom presets with 20 items per kind.
PlusFavorites beyond 20 (within a safety cap), up to 50 categories with 5,000 channels, and up to 30 presets with 2,000 items per kind. Extras are kept, not deleted, if Plus ends.

MultiView

Grid or focus layouts, Up Next inside a tile, immersive fullscreen, one shared volume saved for your profile, and independent per-screen mute with Solo. Content locked by Family Guard asks for the parent PIN before it is added.

Provider limitsProvider screens follow the simultaneous-connection limit your Xtream account reports and need at least two. Sources that report one connection or none (every M3U playlist) keep provider streams to one. My Media tiles are exempt.

Family Guard and Kids Mode

A parent PIN stored only as a salted digest, one clear lock control per item, category and section locks, temporary per-item unlocks, a session pause in the top bar, and a simplified Kids Mode. New profiles start with Family Guard off.

SlothMate Plus

SlothMate Plus unlocks SlothMate tools and capacity only. It includes no media and no provider service. Every option unlocks the same feature set, and Apple shows the prices in the app. It is offered as 1, 3, 6, or 12-month subscriptions or a one-time Lifetime purchase, billed by Apple and restorable on any Mac signed in to the same Apple Account.

Demo Mode

A fictional, session-only showcase with sample channels, movies, and series, so you can explore the layout before connecting anything. Nothing in the Demo is saved, and it plays no real content except a personal file you pick yourself.
