1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Abdeslam Ammor (Belgium) about using the SlothMate app. By using SlothMate you accept them. If you downloaded SlothMate from the Mac App Store, Apple's Media Services terms and the applicable end-user license agreement also apply; where a mandatory Apple term conflicts with these Terms, the Apple term prevails for the App Store copy.

2. What SlothMate is

SlothMate is a native macOS media player and organization tool. It does not provide, host, sell, index, recommend, or bundle channels, movies, series, playlists, EPG data, IPTV services, or any other media. Everything the app shows comes from sources you connect or files you own; the built-in Demo shows fictional samples only.

3. Authorized sources only

You may connect only sources, services, and files you own or are legally authorized to access, and you are responsible for their legality in your jurisdiction. SlothMate must not be used to infringe copyright or to access content or services without authorization — nothing in the app or these Terms encourages that.

4. No provider affiliation

SlothMate is not affiliated with, endorsed by, operated by, or supported by any IPTV or media provider. Provider names, catalogs, and account information shown in the app come from the data your own sources return. SlothMate cannot manage, renew, refund, or support a provider subscription — contact your provider for that.

5. Source availability

Your sources are third-party services and your own hardware. Providers can change or discontinue APIs, credentials, formats, catalogs, expiry, or availability at any time; drives can be disconnected and folder permissions revoked; and not every codec, format, or source configuration can be guaranteed to work. SlothMate makes reasonable efforts to play what you connect but does not guarantee any third-party service's availability or quality.

6. Your media stays yours

Media you play or organize through SlothMate never becomes SlothMate's property. SlothMate is not a backup service: it does not copy your files, and forgetting a source or deleting the app does not delete your media — but you remain responsible for your own backups.

7. SlothMate Plus

SlothMate Plus unlocks additional SlothMate organization tools and capacity. It is offered as auto-renewable subscriptions of 1, 3, 6, or 12 months and as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Every option unlocks the same Plus feature set — they differ only in billing duration or purchase type. Plus never provides, unlocks, or includes content, sources, or provider connections. Prices and availability are shown by the App Store at purchase time. If Plus ends, your saved organization is not deleted: content beyond the free plan's limits stays saved and reactivates if Plus returns. Lifetime is the non-consumable SlothMate Plus entitlement tied to the purchasing Apple Account under Apple's StoreKit entitlement state; it is not a promise that any particular feature, provider, source, or macOS version remains available or compatible forever. A purchase Apple revokes or refunds may end the corresponding entitlement.

8. Subscriptions and auto-renewal

Subscription payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in accordance with Apple's cancellation timing, and each renewal is charged through Apple. You manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings (App Store → Account → Subscriptions); deleting SlothMate or a profile does not cancel a subscription. Billing, receipts, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. Restore Purchases re-checks the purchases eligible for your Apple Account. Where the law of your country grants mandatory consumer rights (such as withdrawal or refund rights), those rights remain unaffected.

9. Family Guard and Kids Mode

Family Guard and Kids Mode are local convenience tools: a parent PIN, content locks, masking, and a simplified kids session inside SlothMate on this Mac. They cannot guarantee that every inappropriate item in your own sources is identified or blocked, they do not restrict other apps or devices, and they are not a substitute for macOS parental controls or for supervision. The parent remains responsible for what a household's sources contain.

10. Acceptable use

You must not use SlothMate: for unlawful purposes; to access content or services without authorization; to steal, share, or redistribute provider credentials; to circumvent a provider's connection or account limits; to interfere with the app's operation or security measures; or to present SlothMate's fictional demo material as real content or as content provided by SlothMate.

11. Intellectual property

The SlothMate app, interface, and branding belong to Abdeslam Ammor or their licensors. Your media and your providers' content do not become SlothMate's property. SlothMate includes open-source components — notably VLCKit and libVLC under the LGPL-2.1 — which remain under their own licenses; see Open Source Licenses in the app.

12. Updates and availability

SlothMate evolves: features may change, be added, or be removed, and macOS compatibility may change over time. Reasonable efforts are made to keep the app working well, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Plus tools may also evolve — without ever converting Plus into a content service.

13. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, SlothMate is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you; nothing here excludes warranties or guarantees that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Abdeslam Ammor is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, content, or provider services, arising from the use of SlothMate. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections in your country.

15. Suspension and termination

You can stop using SlothMate at any time by deleting the app; locally stored data follows the deletion behavior described in the Privacy Policy. Unlawful use or misuse of the app may result in limits on support or, where applicable, other lawful remedies. Apple subscriptions are cancelled separately through your Apple Account and are not ended by deleting the app.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of Belgium, without depriving you of protections granted by mandatory consumer law of the country where you live. If you obtained SlothMate through the Mac App Store, nothing in this section affects Apple's mandatory terms.
